Charity ball raises £50,000 for D.R.E.A.M. Centre Appeal

On the 17th September, 300 guests came together at Glyndebourne for a glamorous autumn ball in aid of Chailey Heritage Foundation. Hosted by TV & radio presenter Katie Derham, of Strictly Come Dancing fame, the event raised £50,000 towards the Foundation’s new DREAM Centre Appeal.

The DREAM Centre Appeal is an ambitious and exciting project to transform the current assembly hall, which was built in 1958 and is no longer fit for use, into a state-of-the-art purpose built indoor facility, which will help disabled young people of today and the future to experience a whole range of arts and physical activities.

Chailey Heritage Foundation is hugely grateful for the support of all the guests on the evening and to those who donated the amazing prizes. The Charity wishes to extend a special thank you to the Ball Committee of volunteers, chaired by Laura Harding, to the guest auctioneer Stephen Mould (Sotheby’s), guest compere Tim Hanbury (MD of Apollo Event Consultants and Great Grandson of the Founder of the Charity), Gus Christie (Glyndebourne), speaker Verena Hanbury (Granddaughter of the Founder of the Charity - Dame Grace Kimmins) and the wonderful host, Katie Derham.
