Where the unbelievable becomes believable
The D.R.E.A.M. Centre will be a state-of-the-art, purpose built environment, where the whole community can come together to celebrate achievements, show off talents and broaden horizons. It will enable the young people here today as well as those in the future to experience a whole range of arts and physical activities.
The new indoor space provides a sports court for wheelchair sports, including football and boccia as well as adapted versions of other sports like table cricket. The space will also be used for young people to learn to drive powered wheelchairs, and will be home to the powered wheelchair driving school.
As part of the stage area, concealed under a hydraulic-controlled floor, will be a trampoline for Rebound Therapy, and a ball pit for sensory stimulation activities. The benefits of Rebound Therapy include strengthening limbs, relaxation, muscle tone, co-ordination, body awareness and fun and enjoyment.
Our young people love performing, from the St Martin’s Nativity play to the school band (The Red Lamps), the Shakespeare performances and Canterbury Tales workshops. Whether its performing or being a willing audience member, the young people really enjoy being involved. The large hall and stage area combine to create the perfect performance and celebration arena, allowing everyone to come together and celebrate achievements in one space.
